The Fachverband der Bauelemente Distribution eV (FBDi) is the professional association of companies active in the distribution of electronic components in Germany and neighboring countries .
history
It was founded in 2003 and represents over 70% of the total market. The purpose of the association is to inform the members about economic developments in the distribution industry and to prepare suitable information material. He also represents the interests of the member companies in legal measures and in relation to official bodies. As a discussion forum, it offers its members the opportunity to discuss trends and problems, clarify internal distribution issues and promote an internal association exchange of experiences and opinions.

The organs of the association consist of the general assembly, the board (Georg Steinberger, Andreas Aschenbrenner and Bert Schukat) and the management (Andreas Falke). Members of the association are niche and specialty distributors of various sizes and orientations as well as broadliners.
The association is a member of the European branch and trade association International Distribution of Electronics Association and works closely with the Italian Electronics Distributors Association and the international organization National Electronics Distributors Association .

The association regularly publishes statistics and data on the German distribution market for electronic components and ensures that they are distributed in the specialist media. The publications include the FBDi business climate index, which is collected anonymously and published quarterly, and the FBDi directory, which appears every two years. The reference work lists offers and services from distributors of electronic components and contains articles and interviews on current trends and market developments. For the handling of EU environmental regulations, the FBDi offers action aids developed in working groups, e.g. B. the FBDi Environment and Compatibility Compass.
The core tasks include taking a position on important industrial issues (including training, liability and law) as well as environmental issues and the market-driven implementation of EC directives and regulations (including RoHs , WEEE (I and II) and REACH ).
