Anuar Nahes (born May 25, 1952 in Santa Adélia , São Paulo ) is a Brazilian diplomat .

Life

Anuar Nahes is the son of Elvira and Anur Nahes. From 1976 he studied philology at the University of São Paulo and from 1978 pedagogy at the Philosophical, Scientific and Philological Faculty of Professor Carlos Pasquale in São Paulo . In 2003 he successfully defended his diploma thesis on Reparações da Guerra do Golfo e suas implicações para o Brasil: a Comissão de Compensação das Nações Unidas as part of a Curso de Altos Estudos at the Instituto Rio Branco .

In 1981 he took a PCD course at the Instituto Rio Branco . In 1982 he became Secretary of the Third Class, 1982 Second Class and 1992 First Class. In 1997 he was appointed Legation Councilor, and in 2005 he was appointed Second Class Ambassador. From 1983 to 1984 he was an assistant in the Central America Department. From 1983 to 1984 he was an assistant in the United Nations Department. In 1984 he led the Brazilian delegation to a seminar on religious intolerance in Geneva. In 1985 he was employed in the coordination and planning department. From 1985 to 1986 he worked in the public relations department. From 1986 to 1989 he was secretary of the mission at the UN headquarters . From 1989 to 1992 he was Secretary of the Embassy in Caracas . From 1992 to 1995 he was legation secretary in Damascus . In 1995 he was employed in the human resources department.

In 1994 he was temporarily chargé d'affaires in Beirut . From 1995 to 1998 he was Deputy Head of the Middle East Department. In 1996 he led a health care mission to Ramallah and Gaza . From 1998 to 2001 he was Minister Counselor in Paris . From 2002 to 2003 he was delegated counselor and envoy in Tunis . From 2003 to 2004 he was assistant to the general director of the Agência Nacional de Energia Eléctrica (ANEEL). From 2004 to 2005 he headed the human resources department. From 2005 to 2007 he coordinated the Coordenação do Seguimento dea Cúpula América do Sul-Países Árabes (ASPA decision control of the South American-Arab group).

In 2006 he was temporarily chargé d'affaires in Damascus . In 2007 he was ambassador to Doha .

Anuar Nahes was appointed ambassador to Baghdad on June 2nd, 2011 and submitted his letter of accreditation there on March 1st, 2012 .

He was awarded:

  • 1983 with the bronze medal of the Lafayette de Carvalho e Silva prize of the Instituto Rio Branco.
  • In 1997 he was accepted into the Order of the Lebanese Cedar.
  • In 2001 he was accepted into the Brazilian Medalha do Mérito Santos-Dumont Aviation Merit Order .
  • In 2005 he was accepted into the Rio Branco order.
