Edgard Antonio Casciano

Edgard Antonio Casciano (born July 12, 1950 in São Paulo ) is a Brazilian diplomat .

Life

Edgard Antonio Casciano received a Bachelor of Laws from the Law School of the University de São Paulo in 1974 and a year later as a civil servant at the Ministry of Labor. In 1976 he completed his studies in French literature at the University of Nancy , which he then followed from 1978 to a study of political science at the University of Geneva and from 1979 of international law at the Hague Academy of International Law . In 1981 he finally completed the Curso Preparatório à Carreira Diplomática of the Rio Branco Institute .

After Casciano had worked as an assistant in the department of international organizations from 1983, he was appointed from 1985 in the department of the state secretary as attaché and legation secretary to the mission at the OEA in Washington, DC . In 1988 he completed the Curso de Aperfeiçoamento de Diplomatas of the Rio Branco Institute and chaired the standing commission of the Consejo Interamericano para la Educación, la Ciencia y la Cultura (CIECC) of the Organization of American States .

From 2000 he served as a delegation counselor in Berlin and in 2003 presented the study: Tendências da política externa da Alemanha reunificada: continuidade e mudança as part of the Curso de Alto Estudios . A year later, Casciano was named envoy to Washington, DC . From 2007 he headed the office of the Secretary of State for General Politics II. Finally, Casciano was appointed Ambassador to Damascus from April 30, 2008 to July 20, 2012 , where he was a member of the examination committee of the Rio Branco Institute in various functions from 2010 . Casciano has been ambassador to Athens since June 26, 2013 .
