The Association of Cardboard Packaging for Liquid Food e. V. (FKN) was founded in 1981 and is based in Berlin . The association represents the interests of the manufacturers of beverage cartons operating in Germany . The chairman of the FKN is Stephan Karl, managing director of Tetra Pak GmbH.

aims

The FKN sees its task above all in convincing the public, politics and critical interest groups of the positive environmental balance of the beverage carton, certified by a study by the UBA in 2002 . In addition, the association sees itself as a platform for the exchange of technical and scientific questions that can contribute to the ecological optimization of the beverage carton. In 1991, the FKN founded ReCarton GmbH as a 100 percent subsidiary that takes care of the recycling of used beverage cartons.

Member companies

Members include the three companies ELOPAK , SIG Combibloc GmbH and Tetra Pak GmbH & Co. KG . According to their own information, the member companies of the FKN produce more than 90% of all beverage cartons sold in Germany.
