history

FactSet was founded in 1978 by Howard Wille and Charles Snyder. The company initially concentrated on the integration of third-party data in the banks' portfolio management systems and provided added value through intelligent filter criteria. The company has been listed on the New York Stock Exchange since 1996 .

In 2008 FactSet bought the WorldScope database from Thomson Reuters for $ 63 million because it had to be spun off due to antitrust regulations as part of the takeover of Reuters by Thomson.

Services and products

FactSet has been offering a new platform since 2009 that enables access to more than 800 databases from different vendors. In addition to analyzes, the platform enables comparisons, filters, portfolio optimization and simulation; in addition, news and prices are displayed. The platform is also available via mobile devices and integrated in Microsoft Office .
