European Le Mans Series

In the European Le Mans Series, no one may spend more than 4.5 hours in the GTE-Pro vehicle or more than 3.5 hours in the racing cars of the other categories. Since a race often lasts six hours, a driver change is inevitable. Usually two to four drivers drive the racing car per race.

FIA GT3 European Championship

A racing team consists of two vehicles of the same type of vehicle. Two drivers must be registered per race car. In both races of the race weekend, each vehicle must complete a mandatory pit stop between the 23rd and 37th minute, during which a driver change is carried out.

Course of events

After the car has arrived in the pit lane , the driver gets out as quickly as possible and makes room for his teammate. They help each other with this. In the ADAC GT Masters, a driver change must take at least 70 seconds so that there is no risk of injury. The change usually takes just over 80 seconds.
