Falkenstein is a German neofolk / pagan folk band.

history

Falkenstein was founded in 2007 by Tobias Franke from Allgäu, who is the only band member who always plays all the instruments himself on the recordings.

According to the company, the style is a mixture of neofolk and pagan folk. The thematic focus is on the romanticism of nature and the pagan religion of the Teutons. Often sacred trees and plants are sung about, which has become a trademark of the project. In addition to self-written texts, old poems such as B. set to music by Ludwig Uhland or Martin Greif .

In 2012 Falkenstein took part in the digital benefit compilation No Red Seas , which was initiated by Sol Invictus member Lesley Malone and the proceeds of which are used to support the Sea Shepherd organization.
