The Bonhomme Township is one of 28 townships in St. Louis County in the eastern part of the US -amerikanischen state of Missouri and part of the metropolitan region of Greater St. Louis . In 2010 , Bonhomme Township had 36,316 residents.

The Bonhomme Township is located in the southwest suburb of St. Louis and is traversed by the Meramec River . The Mississippi , which forms the border with Illinois , is about 15 km to the east.

The Bonhomme Township is located at 38 ° 34'20 "north latitude and 90 ° 25'04" west longitude and extends over 50.2 km², which is spread over 49.2 km² of land and 1.0 km² of water.

The Bonhomme Township is located in southwest St. Louis County and borders Jefferson County to the south . Within St. Louis County, Bonhomme Township is bordered by Meramec Township to the southwest, Queeny Township to the west, Missouri River Township to the northwest , Clayton Township to the north, Jefferson Township to the northeast, and the East Gravois Township and to the southeast to the Tesson Ferry Township .

Interstate 44 runs through Bonhomme Township in a west-east direction on a joint route with US Highway 50 . In the northeast of the township intersects Interstate 270 , the western bypass of St. Louis. US Highways 61 and 67 run further east in a north-south direction on the same route . The old Route 66 , which runs on a common route with Missouri State Route 100 , forms the northern boundary of Bonhomme Township. Missouri State Routes 30 and 141 intersect in the southwest of the township . All other roads are county roads or subordinate inner-city connecting roads.

Several railway lines run west from St. Louis through Bonhomme Township, operated by the Union Pacific Railroad , the BNSF Railway, and Amtrak . There is an Amtrak station in Kirkwood .

The Lambert-Saint Louis International Airport is located about 30 km northeast of Bonhomme Township.

According to the 2010 census , there were 36,316 people in 14,912 households in Bonhomme Township. The population density was 738.1 inhabitants per square kilometer. Statistically, 2.38 people lived in each of the 14,912 households.
