The Missouri River Township is one of 28 townships in St. Louis County in the eastern part of the US -amerikanischen state of Missouri and part of the metropolitan region of Greater St. Louis . In 2010 , the Missouri River Township had 34,992 residents.

The Missouri River Township is located in the western suburbs of St. Louis about 2 km southeast of the Missouri River . The Mississippi , which forms the border with Illinois , is about 25 km to the east.

The Missouri River Township is located at 38 ° 40'00 "north latitude and 90 ° 29'49" west longitude and extends over 65.5 km².

The Missouri River Township is located in west central St. Louis County. It is bordered to the north by Maryland Heights Township and Creve Coeur Township , to the east by Clayton Township , to the southeast by Bonhomme Township , to the southwest by Queeny Township , to the west by Lafayette Township and to the northwest by Chesterfield Township .

In the center of the Missouri River Township, Interstate 270, which serves as the western bypass of St. Louis in a north-south direction , crosses Interstate 64, which runs jointly with US Highways 40 and 61 . Farther south, the old Route 66 runs parallel to Interstate 64 on a shared route with Missouri State Route 100 . The US Highway 67 forms the eastern boundary of the township. Missouri State Route 141 forms the western boundary . All other roads are county roads or subordinate inner-city connecting roads.

The Lambert-Saint Louis International Airport is located 20 km north-east of the Missouri River Township.

According to the 2010 census , the Missouri River Township had 34,992 people in 12,573 households. The population density was 534.2 people per square kilometer. Statistically, 2.63 people lived in each of the 12,573 households.
