The Concord Township is one of 28 townships in St. Louis County in the eastern part of the US -amerikanischen state of Missouri and part of the metropolitan region of Greater St. Louis . In 2010 the Concord Township had 36,693 residents.

The Concord Township borders the southwestern boroughs of St. Louis . The Mississippi , which forms the border with Illinois , is about 4 km to the east.

The Concord Township is located at 38 ° 31 '  N , 90 ° 21'  W and extends over 26.4 km².

The Concord Township is located in the south of St. Louis County and borders the city of St. Louis in the northeast. Within St. Louis County, Concord Township borders the Lemay Township in the southeast, the Tesson Ferry Township in the southwest and Gravois Township in the northwest and north .

The southwestern edge of Concord Township is formed by Interstate 270 , the southern bypass of St. Louis. Interstate 55 , which connects Chicago with New Orleans , forms the southeastern edge of the township . The entire northern boundary of the township is formed by Missouri State Route 30 . US Highways 50 , 61 and 67 and Missouri State Route 27 meet in the center of Concord Township . All other streets within the township are inner-city connecting streets.

A BNSF Railway runs north-south through Concord Township.

The Lambert-Saint Louis International Airport is located 25 km north of Concord Township.

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census , Concord Township had 36,693 people in 16,014 households. The population density was 1389.9 inhabitants per square kilometer. Statistically, 2.28 people lived in each of the 16,014 households.

The racial the population was composed of 94.1 percent white, 1.2 percent African American, 0.2 percent Native American, 2.6 percent Asian and 0.3 percent from other ethnic groups; 1.5 percent were descended from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 1.7 percent of the population.
