Maryland Heights Township is located in the western suburbs of St. Louis on the right bank of the Missouri River . The Mississippi , which forms the border with Illinois , is 19 miles east.
The Maryland Heights Township is located at 38 ° 42 ' N , 90 ° 29' W and extends over 56.2 km², which is spread over 52.1 km² of land and 4.1 km² of water.

Maryland Heights Township is located in the west of St. Louis County and is bordered to the west and northwest - separated by the Missouri River - on St. Charles County . Within St. Louis County, Maryland Heights Township borders the Northwest Township in the north, the Airport Township in the northeast, the Midland and Creve Coeur Township in the east, the Missouri River Township in the south and Chesterfield Township in the southwest .

Via the Veterans Memorial Bridge , the township has a freeway connection with Missouri State Route 364 to the north-west of St. Charles County. In the east of Maryland Heights Township, the road then crosses Interstate 270 , the St. Louis bypass. Missouri State Routes 141 and 340 also run through the township area . All other streets within the township are inner-city connecting streets.
A Union Pacific Railroad line runs along the right bank of the Missouri .
In the far north of the Maryland Heights Township is Creve Coeur Airport, a small airfield. The nearest major airport is Lambert-Saint Louis International Airport, about 15 km east-northeast .
