Michael Starcke (born December 19, 1949 in Erfurt , † February 19, 2016 in Bochum ) was a German poet .

Life

Starcke moved from the GDR to the Federal Republic of Germany in 1959 . He lived in Calw until 1961 and since then in Bochum. In 1973 he passed the preliminary pharmaceutical examination and has since worked in pharmacies in the Ruhr area, including in Dortmund, Hagen, Bochum and Essen.

He has been writing since childhood and was initially mainly concerned with poetry before starting to write poetry himself. He often worked with musicians, painters and visual artists across the board. From 1986 to 1996 he was co-editor of the Bonner literary newspaper .

Michael Starcke was a nephew of the Thuringian poet Hans Starcke , known as Hans Huckebein.
