Denis Grondin (born October 23, 1954 in Rimouski ) is Archbishop of the Canadian Archdiocese of Rimouski .

Life

The Archbishop of Québec, Louis-Albert Cardinal Vachon , ordained him a priest on May 21, 1989 . He then worked as a chaplain and school chaplain in various parishes in the Archdiocese of Québec . He then worked in various parishes as a parish administrator and leader of the pastoral care team. From 2005 he was also a pastor at the health and social center in Charlevoix . Before being appointed bishop, he was pastor of ten parishes in the Charlevoix region.

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on December 12, 2011 auxiliary bishop in Québec and titular bishop of Camplum . He was ordained episcopate on February 25 of the following year by the Archbishop of Québec, Gérald Cyprien Lacroix ISPX ; Co- consecrators were Paul Lortie , Bishop of Mont-Laurier , and Gilles Lemay , Bishop of Amos .

On May 4, 2015, Pope Francis appointed him Archbishop of Rimouski . The inauguration took place on June 14th of the same year.
