Gilles Lemay (born February 24, 1948 in Sainte-Emmélie ) is a Canadian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Amos .

Life

The auxiliary bishop in Quebec , Laurent Noël , donated to him on 11 May 1974, the priestly ordination .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Québec and titular bishop of Eguga on February 11, 2005 . He was ordained episcopal on April 10th of the same year by the Archbishop of Québec, Marc Cardinal Ouellet PSS ; Co - consecrators were Jean-Pierre Blais , Auxiliary Bishop in Québec, and Eugène Tremblay , Bishop of Amos.

He was appointed Bishop of Amos on February 22, 2011 and was introduced to the office on April 15 of the same year.

From June 25, 2019 to March 21, 2020, he was also Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Rouyn-Noranda during the Sedis vacancy .
