The Roman Catholic Diocese of Amos ( Latin Dioecesis Amosensis , French Diocèse d'Amos ) is a in Canada situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Amos .
history
The diocese of Amos was founded on December 3, 1938 by Pope Pius XI. established from cessions of territory by the diocese of Haileybury .
On May 31, 2007, parts of the dissolved Diocese of Labrador City-Schefferville and areas of the Diocese of Moosonee were incorporated . At the same time, the Diocese of Amos gave three smaller territories to the Dioceses of Chicoutimi , Joliette and Trois Rivières .
The diocese of Amos is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Gatineau as a suffragan .
