Paul Lortie (born March 17, 1944 in Beauport , Canada ) is a Canadian clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Mont-Laurier .

Life

Paul Lortie was ordained a priest on May 16, 1970 .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on April 7, 2009 auxiliary bishop in Québec and titular bishop of Hierpiniana . He was ordained episcopal on May 24th of the same year by the Archbishop of Québec, Marc Cardinal Ouellet PSS ; Co-consecrators were Maurice Couture RSV , Old Archbishop of Québec, and Gilles Lemay , Auxiliary Bishop of Québec.

He was appointed Bishop of Mont-Laurier on February 2, 2012, and was instituted on March 15 of the same year. On July 10, 2019, Pope Francis accepted Paul Lortie's request for resignation for reasons of age.
