The Tesson Ferry Township is located in the southwestern suburb of St. Louis on the left bank of the Meramec River . The Mississippi , which forms the border with Illinois , is about four kilometers east of the Tesson Ferry Township.
The Tesson Ferry Township is located at 38 ° 30 ' N , 90 ° 23' W and extends over 55.4 km², which is spread over 54.4 km² and 1.0 km² of water.
The Tesson Ferry Township is located in southern St. Louis County and borders on Jefferson County to the south and southwest . Within St. Louis County, the Tesson Ferry Township borders the Bonhomme Township in the northwest , the Gravois and Concord Township in the north, the Lemay Township in the northeast and the Oakville Township in the southeast .

The Interstate 270 , the southern ring road of St. Louis, forms the northeastern border of Tesson Ferry Township. The Interstate 55 , of Chicago through St. Louis and Memphis to New Orleans runs, runs through the eastern part of the township. US Highways 61 and 67 run parallel to this on a shared route . In the extreme northwest, Interstate 44 borders the township. Furthermore, Missouri State Routes 21 and 30 run through the township in the same direction . All other streets within the township are inner-city connecting streets.
A railway line of the BNSF Railway runs through the far east of the township .
The Lambert-Saint Louis International Airport is located about 35 km north of Tesson Ferry Township.
