The Spanish Lake Township is one of 28 townships in St. Louis County in the eastern part of the US -amerikanischen state of Missouri and part of the metropolitan region of Greater St. Louis . In 2010 the Spanish Lake Township had 35,967 inhabitants.

The Spanish Lake Township is located in the northern suburbs of St. Louis on the right bank of the Missouri River . Its confluence with the Mississippi , which forms the border with Illinois , is about 6 km below in an easterly direction.

The Spanish Lake Township is located at 38 ° 47'44 "north latitude and 90 ° 15'01" west longitude and extends over 84.4 km², which is spread over 77.4 km² of land and 7.0 km² of water.

The Spanish Lake Township is located in the north of St. Louis County and is bordered in the northwest by the Missouri on the St. Charles County . Within St. Louis County, the Spanish Lake Township is bordered by St. Ferdinand Township to the east and southeast , Ferguson Township to the south, Florissant Township to the southwest, and Lewis and Clark Township to the east and northeast .

In the extreme south of the Spanish Lake Township, Interstate 270 , which serves as the northern bypass of the metropolitan area around St. Louis, crosses Missouri State Route 367 , which joins US Highway 67 in the center of the township . Highway 67 crosses the Missouri over the Lewis Bridge in a northerly direction to neighboring St. Charles County. All other roads are county roads or subordinate inner-city connecting roads.

Parallel to Highway 67 runs a BNSF Railway , which runs from St. Louis along the Mississippi in a northerly direction.

The Lambert-Saint Louis International Airport is located 20 km southwest of the township.

According to the 2010 census , the Spanish Lake Township had 35,967 people in 13,974 households. The population density was 464.7 people per square kilometer. Statistically, 2.53 people lived in each of the 13,974 households.
