The Florissant Township is located in the northwest suburb of St. Louis . The Missouri River is about 2 km northwest of the township; the Mississippi , which forms the border with Illinois , is about 10 km to the east.

The Florissant Township is located in the north of St. Louis County and borders in the northwest with the Lewis and Clark Township , in the northeast with the Spanish Lake Township , in the southeast with the Ferguson Township , in the south with the Airport Township and in the extreme southwest with the Northwest Township .

The southern edge of Florissant Township is formed by Interstate 270 , the northern bypass of St. Louis. US Highway 67 runs through the northern center of the township . All other streets within the township are inner-city connecting streets.
