Folding bucket for use by the fire department

The folding bucket , folding barrel or folding bucket is a foldable water container made of fabric ( e.g. linen ), leather , rubber or impregnated canvas ( canvas bucket ). Canvas buckets are mainly known from seafaring ; In fire fighting , the folding buckets are called extinguishing buckets .

The bucket consists of a sack with two handles or a bracket sewn onto the top. The foldable bucket gets its shape by filling it with water or by an integrated coil spring (pop-up). In the GDR , buckets with a vulcanized wire ring for shaping were common.

The advantage of the folding bucket is that it takes up little space when folded. So many of these devices can be stored in a small space to save space.

Today, folding bins are also offered as space-saving utensils for outdoor activities, for example as fishing accessories.
