Famulus (robot)

Famulus (also spelled FAMULUS ) was the world's first six-axis industrial robot . The Famulus was developed and manufactured by KUKA for the automotive industry in 1973 . It was also the first industrial robot from the mechanical engineering company KUKA.

Famulus had six electrically driven axles. In doing so, the company met the demands of the automotive industry for more flexible robots with more axes.
