Fantacalcio

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Fantacalcio is a football manager game popular in Italy that consists in managing virtual teams, but the players of which are real footballers of the Italian professional league Serie A , to which this manager game refers. The Fantacalcio thus corresponds to fantasy football in other countries.

Riccardo Albini is considered the inventor of Fantacalcio, who was inspired by American Fantasy Baseball (also known as Rotisserie League Baseball ). In 1990 the Fantacalcio was first published in Italy by Edizioni Studio Vit. Alberto Rossetti and Diego Antonelli were also involved in drawing up the final set of rules.

In the meantime, several variants of the Fantacalcio have developed on the Internet. However, Fantacalcio is a registered trademark of the Gruppo Editoriale L'Espresso publishing group . Other versions of the Fantacalcio are hosted by major daily sports newspapers, TV media and online platforms.

description

  1. The aim of Fantacalcio is to lead a virtual team , which consists of real footballers from the Serie A teams, to the championship of the virtual league . This team is also called Fantasquadra (Squadra, Italian for "team", plural "Fantasquadre") and the league accordingly Fantalega (Lega, Italian for "Liga", plural "Fantaleghe").
  2. The result of each game depends on the actual performance of the eleven footballers who are lined up in the Fantasquadra every week.
  3. Between four and ten people can take part in a Fantalega: mathematically speaking, it is also possible to take up to 20 people - this number corresponds to the number of Serie A teams. If you play with more than ten people, each of them increases the risk of not having enough footballers in their own Fantasquadra who are actually regular players. At Fantacalcio, each participant acts both as the president (at the player allocation auction) and as a coach of his Fantasquadra.
  4. The squad of each Fantasquadra consists of a maximum of 25 footballers:
    • 3 goalkeepers,
    • 8 defenders,
    • 8 midfielders,
    • 6 strikers.
  5. The individual league matches are contested by a Fantasquadra, which consists of eleven regular players who are selected according to the desired game system according to their player roles.
  6. The game systems 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 6-3-1, 4-5-1, 5-3-2, 5-4-1 are officially allowed. Set of rules variants also allow setups such as 3-4-3, 3-5-2 and 4-2-4.
  7. The Fantasquadre meet in the league games. The result of such an encounter is determined on the one hand by grades given by daily sports newspapers (mainly by Gazzetta dello Sport and partly also by Corriere dello Sport ). On the other hand, "bonus" and "malus points" make the difference based on the following variables:
    • +3 points for every goal scored
    • +3 points for every penalty saved (goalkeeper)
    • +2 points for each penalty hit
    • +1 point for every assist
    • −0.5 points for each warning (yellow card)
    • +1 point if there is no goal against (optional)
    • −1 point for each hit
    • −1 point for each dismissal (red card)
    • -2 points for every own goal
    • -3 points for each penalty missed
  8. The goals of each Fantasquadra result from the conversion of all bonus and penalty points as well as the player grades. The goal conversion table is as follows:
    • Less than 66 points: 0 goals
    • From 66 to 71.5 points: 1 goal
    • From 72 to 77.5 points: 2 goals
    • From 78 to 83.5 points: 3 goals
    • From 84 to 89.5 points: 4 goals
    • From 90 to 95.5 points: 5 goals
    • From 96 to 101.5 points: 6 goals
    • And so on and so forth, a Fantasquadra gets a goal after another six points.
However, over the years there have been changes to this table by the Federazione Fantacalcio, the main decision-making body. In the 2002/2003 season, for example, the threshold for the third goal was reduced from 78 to 77 points. In addition, one additional goal was credited after each four additional points (4 goals with 81 points, 5 goals with 85 points, 6 goals with 89 points and so on).
  9. If a footballer appointed to the starting line-up has not received a mark, the mark of the footballer nominated for the bank (substitute) will be taken into account. Up to seven footballers can be nominated for the bank, i.e. as substitutes, i.e. 1 goalkeeper, 2 defenders, 2 midfielders, 2 strikers. If neither the regular player nor a substitute has received a mark for a position, a virtual reserve player with a player mark of 4 is assumed. If the manager of a Fantasquadra only fielded footballers who were substituted on during the game, only their values count.
  10. If one or more game postponements occur on a Serie A game day, the official Fantacalcio rules provide for a stand-by of the Fantalega game, the values of which take account of the Serie A games made up accordingly. If a Serie A game is finally canceled or abandoned, the field players of the Fantasquadre receive six points, the goalkeeper 5.5 points. However, this does not apply to all Fantacalcio variants, such as those of Repubblica and Facebook, which in such cases provide six points for all players - including the goalkeeper.
  11. The ranking in the Fantalega table is based on the points awarded per game: three points are awarded for every win, one point for every draw and zero points for every defeat.
  12. The Fantalega ends with the completion of all the games scheduled in the schedule. The Fantasquadra with the most points is declared the Master of the Fantalega.
  13. The team line-up is submitted at least half an hour before the first game day game starts. If a manager has not made a line-up, depending on the decision of the respective Fantalega, the line-up from the previous game day will be assessed or the victory of the opposing Fantasquadra will be awarded.

auction

budget

The budget for the player auction is usually given in virtual currencies such as FantaMilioni , FantaEuro or MagicMilioni . The participants of each Fantalega decide on the amount of the budget for each player. The set of rules provides for a budget of 250 FantaMilioni (sometimes there are leagues that provide 300 FantaMilioni or even 500 FantaMilioni per participant).

Player bankruptcy

If a team, i.e. a participant, should go bankrupt because he has exceeded his budget, he will have to forego one or more purchased players.

International transfers

If a footballer moves from Serie A abroad and this footballer is also part of a Fantasquadra, the manager concerned must resell the player at the purchase price. The manager has the right to immediately acquire a footballer with a corresponding player role from the list of unsold footballers.
