Faqi

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Faqi ( Chin.發 氣, from fā (發): to send out) denotes the ability of a Qigong master to transmit the Qi to other people. Developing this skill requires many years of training in many exercises. It is created through a combination of breathing, an upright inner and outer posture as well as concentration and technique.

A master is able to specifically release the Qi through his fingers and hands, the effect of which his counterpart can perceive as warmth, tingling or other stimuli. Faqi can also be used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Referred to here as Waiqi liaofa . For the master himself, mastering this ability means good health and a long life.

In the martial arts Faqi can be used to negatively stimulate the acupuncture points ( Dianxue ).
