Color advice and color pass

In a color consultation which is first color type of a person determined. A color palette is derived from this, which harmonizes with the original (natural) appearance of a person. A color pass shows a representative selection of colors from this color palette and thus documents a color spectrum that is adequate in terms of color. It supports decision-making in practice and helps e.g. B. when asked whether the color of a desired item of clothing harmonizes with the recommended color palette.

to form

Color passes often consist of individual color cards that are physically linked together. Often they also contain a text section with more detailed explanations of the basic colors and color combinations. These are available from color and style advisors , mostly for a fee.

They are also available online as images free of charge. The images can be printed out for private use. When using the prints, however, attention must be paid to their quality, especially the color fidelity.

Use and handling

A color pass for color advice serves on the one hand to document and internalize the type-related color spectrum, but in practical terms primarily for direct color comparison on items of clothing. In this way, bad purchases can be prevented. The use of a color pass becomes all the more useful, the more the items of clothing, accessories etc. presented in shops are exposed to artificial light (e.g. in department stores), which can lead to incorrect color assessments. So it can be done without comparison with a color pass z. For example, it can quickly happen that you buy a supposedly wine-red shirt and only realize at home that it is actually red-brown.
