Fardume slott and Sören Norbys källare are two medieval stone houses by Hof Fardume in the parish of Rute on the Swedish island of Gotland . On a hill northeast of the Fardumeträsk (lake), with a view of the lake, fields, pastures and the sea, lies the Fardume farm.

Here are the ruins of two buildings: “Fardume slott” (Fardume Castle), also called “Mynttornet” (Mint Tower), and “Sören Norbys källare” (Sören Norbys cellar), which are typical of the settlement structure on Gotland during this period.

Immediately to the east of the winery are the ruins of the square Mynttornet tower. The so-called Kastal measures eight by eight meters. This is three-story preserved and has very strong limestone walls . Hewn stones were used for the corners and borders. The tower probably originally had five floors. The access to the defense tower was on the first floor. Towers of this type were built in the 12th or the beginning of the 13th century. It is conceivable that it was used for residential purposes in peaceful times.

The so-called cellar is with the gable facing the street. The one-story building with a gable roof consists of a storage room with a barrel vault, a round arched entrance and a vaulted window. Remnants of the wall, possibly of a residential building, rise above the basement and into the slope. This part consists of a small anteroom and a larger room with traces of a fireplace and a hearth. There may have been another floor and a floor space here.

It is unclear whether the houses have any connection to the Danish sovereign Søren Norby . The buildings and the surrounding area are owned by Gotlands Fornvänner and are open to the general public.
