Farid Berrhama (nickname: "le rôtisseur" the roaster; * 1966 ; † 2006 in Marseille ) was a French criminal and leader of one of the largest drug gangs in Marseille.

activities

After the murder of the Marseilles gang boss Francis Vanverberghe ("The Belgian") in 2000, Farid Berrhama rose to become the leader of the mafia in Marseille. Berrhama comes from North Africa and his gang was also mainly recruited from North Africans. In addition to drug smuggling and drug sales, he was involved in gambling and extortion of protection money from bar owners.

Berrhama became known, among other things, for having his rivals and enemies brutally murdered. There were executions in the street. Those who were murdered were often cremated to hide their identities. The turf wars were sometimes fought with weapons of war.

Berrhama was killed in an attack by a killing squad in April 2006. While he was watching a European Cup game in a brasserie , eight to ten killers drove up in three cars and fired at Berrhama and others present. After the attack, Berrhama and two of his lieutenants were dead.
