Farsi (district)

Farsi ( Persian  : ولایت فارسی) is a district west of the Herat province in Afghanistan . It is bordered to the north by the Obe district, to the west by the Adraskan district, to the south by the Shindand district and to the south and east by the

Ghor Province . The population was estimated at 29,800 in 2012. The district center is the small town of Farsi.

Demographics

Almost the entire population speaks Persian as their mother tongue, a small minority Pashto. The entire population professes Islam (the majority is Sunni).
