Fcγ receptor IIIb (synonym CD16b , FcγRIIIβ ) is a surface protein from the group of Fc receptors .

properties

CD16b binds as an Fcγ receptor to the Fc region of immunoglobulin G , with or without bound antigens . It is made by neutrophils and stimulated eosinophils . In contrast to the closely related CD16a , it has no ITAM and is not involved in antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC) and phagocytosis . CD16b is glycosylated and has a GPI anchor .
