The Federal Reserve Police is the police of the Federal Reserve System , based in Washington, DC It consists of armed law enforcement officials, the building, plant, property and employees protect the central bank.

Police force is primarily the responsibility of the Board of Governors, so the Council is authorized to issue instructions to the police. Section 11 (q) of the Federal Reserve Act delegates this police power (to act as law enforcement officers to protect and safeguard the premises, grounds, property, personnel, including members of the Board, of the Board, or any Federal Reserve Bank, and operations conducted by or on behalf of the Board or a reserve bank) .
