Patrol
As a patrol in Navy jargon is a cruise of warships to attack an enemy in naval warfare called.
A distinction is made between two types of enemy voyages: on the one hand, when a ship sets sail with all or part of the fleet to attack enemy naval forces ; on the other hand, when a single ship goes out to attack enemy war and merchant ships .
The return from an enemy voyage is sometimes accompanied by certain rituals of reunion, such as hoisting victory flags. With some naval forces it is customary to schedule a number of patrols, after which a soldier is promoted or discharged.
The patrol trip can be distinguished from the reconnaissance trip, for example by patrol boats , and the supply trip by supply ships . In addition, there are transfer or relocation trips between naval bases , during which contact with the enemy should be avoided as far as possible.
