Jack Higgins

Jack Higgins (* 27 July 1929 as Harry Patterson in Newcastle upon Tyne ) is a British writer . His preferred genre is the thriller .

Life

Higgins was born in 1929 under the real name Harry Patterson. After a short time he and his mother moved to Belfast ( Northern Ireland ). This gave him the problematic experience of witnessing IRA attacks. Apparently, however, these freedom fighters fascinated the young Briton, so that he began to write about mostly Irish heroes after leaving the army and successfully studying media studies. Its still the world's most read novel The Eagle Has Landed ( The Eagle Has Landed ), who made him a punch in the global bestseller lists become synonymous with exciting spy thriller. Today the thriller writer lives with his wife on the British Channel Island of Jersey .

The author Sarah Patterson , born in 1959 , who wrote the novel Once a Summer , is his daughter.
