The house at Feldstrasse 34–36 in Düsseldorf - Pempelfort was built from 1950 to 1954 according to a design by the architect Josef Lehmbrock .

description

In 1950, Lehmbrock began to build a new building on the ruins of the former property of Salomon Loeb at Feldstrasse 34, between buildings that were still preserved from the Wilhelminian era. The first floor was built. The still preserved outer walls of the previous building were clad with a curtain glass facade. The house facing the street is completely glazed and has an aluminum frame. By 1954, five upper floors were added to the ground floor. Members of the Düsseldorf Art Academy , such as the artists Langenbach and Schiff, were involved in the design of the house . Anneliese Langenbach gave the facade of the first floor a new cladding made of blue ceramic tiles. In 1980 Lehmbrock acquired the neighboring building no. 36 and built an extension. This facade shows diagonally laid wooden slats; a design by Beate Schiff . Both houses have a common entrance and a common barrel roof, built in a Zollinger construction. The apartment and studio of the architect Josef Lehmbrock were in the roof.
