The drains from Íslands is an Icelandic Touring Association.

The association was founded in 1927 with 63 members. In 2009 it had around 7,000 members.

The association organizes hikes and runs shelters , especially along the Laugavegur trekking trails and old Kjalvegur , west of today's road. The mountain huts can also be used by non-members. Registration is required, especially during the main travel season. Jeep tours into the highlands are also organized by the association. Other mountain huts in Iceland are run by other local associations.

Ferðafélag Íslands also publishes books, brochures and maps about Iceland's tourist destinations and geography. He is also the editor of the Árbækur ( year books ), illustrated non-fiction books about almost all regions of Iceland, which cover the history, geography, vegetation and animal life of the respective region in great detail. They have been published in bound form since 1928 and can contain up to 300 pages. Árbók 2009 provides z. B. the Vestmannaeyjar archipelago .
