Ferdinand Munk

Ferdinand Munk (born July 29, 1961 in Günzburg , Bavaria) is a German entrepreneur and local politician. He is the owner and managing director of the medium-sized climbing technology manufacturer Günzburger Steigtechnik .

Professional career

Munk completed his metal and wood specialist training in 1979 and obtained a master craftsman's certificate in metalworking in 1984. In 1982 he founded the Günzburger Ladernbau company. After the death of his father Leopold Munk in 1991, he merged his company and Leopold Munk KG, which was run by his father, to form Günzburger Steigtechnik GmbH. Since then he has been managing the company together with his wife Ruth. Günzburger Steigtechnik employs more than 210 people at its Günzburg location (as of July 2011) and most recently achieved an annual turnover of 26.5 million euros (2010).

Political career

Ferdinand Munk is a CSU member, he has been a councilor in Günzburg since 1990 and a district councilor in the Günzburg district since 1996 .

Other offices

Since 1990 he has been a fire department consultant for the city of Günzburg and since 1992 a member of the German and European standards committee for fire fighting. In 2008 he became a member of the VDMA , in 2011 he was appointed to the economic senate of the Federal Association of Medium-Sized Enterprises (BVMW).
