Ferdinand Schneider (born May 10, 1812 in Höchst ; † September 9, 1875 there ) was an Austrian politician. Schneider was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament from 1861 to 1867 .

Ferdinand Schneider was born on May 10, 1812 as the son of the kk freight carrier Johann Baptist Schneider and his wife Maria Josefa Rebekka Hollenstein in the Vorarlberg Lake Constance community of Höchst . He learned the trade of Wagner and was also an organist and church caretaker, the latter from 1850 to 1853.

Schneider married a total of three times. First on November 22nd, 1841 Karoline Weiß from Fußach , with whom he had a child. After Karoline died in 1848, he married Helene Amann from Hohenems on May 21, 1849 , with whom he had two children. After Helene's death on March 6, 1951, he finally married a third time, namely on January 5, 1852, Maria Franziska Blum from Höchst, with whom he subsequently had two more children. His last wife finally died nine years after his death.

Ferdinand Schneider was initially politically active in his home town of Höchst, where he was a community representative from 1850 to 1872. In addition, he was the community leader ( mayor ) in the years 1853 to 1859, 1862 to 1866 and 1873 to 1875 . From 1867 to 1870 he was a member of the community committee of Höchst.

In 1861 Schneider was elected as a member of the rural communities for the Feldkirch-Dornbirn constituency in the first Vorarlberg state parliament. He worked there in the first legislative period up to 1867.
