Ferdinand von Gmelin (judge)

Ferdinand von Gmelin (born May 21, 1824 in Esslingen am Neckar , † May 1, 1896 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a German judge .

Life

The son of a senior judiciary was sworn in to the Württemberg sovereign in 1846. In 1850 he came to Göppingen as a court actuary. In 1851 (or 1853) he became senior judicial officer in Ulm and in 1861 senior judicial councilor there. In 1870 he was promoted to senior tribunal councilor and board member of the civil chamber of the Stuttgart district court. He was chairman of the Stuttgart Commercial Court for several years until he was appointed to the Württemberg Upper Tribunal in 1873. In 1879 he came to the Imperial Court. He was in the II. And VI. Civil Senate active. He retired in 1891.
