Ferding

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ferding is the name of one of the various Baltic mint stands ( Livonia , the city of Reval , the dioceses of Dorpat and Ösel ) minted in the 16th century, with a value of a quarter mark.

The name is derived from the quadruplet , a small silver coin from the High and Late Middle Ages worth ¼ pfennigs . The Ferding was struck for the first time in 1515 in Livonia, and between 1561 and 1570 also in Reval.
