Fernand Casimir

Fernand Gaston Georges Émile Robert Casimir (* 1896 ; † after 1952) was a French colonial official.

From April 16, 1935, Casimir was acting Commissaire-Résident de France at the head of the British- French condominium New Hebrides . He represented Henri Sautot , who returned to his post as Commissaire-Résident de France in 1937 . From February 11, 1952 to February 23, 1953, Casimir took over the post of governor of the overseas territory of Niger from Jean Toby on an interim basis . During his term of office, the elections for the Territorial Assembly fell on March 30, 1952 . Casimir secretly supported the victorious Union of Independent Nigerians and Sympathizers (UNIS), the establishment of which Governor Jean Toby had suggested.
