Fernando Sansò

Fernando Sansò (born May 6, 1945 in Milan ) is an Italian geodesist and university professor at the Milan Polytechnic .

The focus of his research - about which he has published seven specialist books, among other things - are the earth's gravity field (in particular boundary value problems in potential theory ), satellite geodesy and mathematical optimization problems such as geodetic network design .

Sansò also holds leading positions in the International Association of Geodesy (IAG) and was heavily involved in the reorganization of this umbrella organization in the 1990s. In 1986 he was awarded the Antonio Feltrinelli Prize .
