Telecommunication bunker

A telecommunications bunker is a massive explosion-proof structure, an air raid protection system of the Deutsche Reichspost , often completely or partially underground , which was built on behalf of the High Command of the Army of the Wehrmacht . The main task of the telecommunications bunker was to protect telecommunications equipment and personnel from the direct effects of weapons in the event of an attack. Sometimes it was also used as a military command center. Well-known air raid systems that were used to transmit technical messages are:

• the bunker Pallasstrasse
• the Heckeshorn bunker
• the bunker Wünsdorf Zeppelin .

Some telecommunications systems were also designed as bunkers abroad. The transmitter building of the Orlunda long wave transmitter was designed as a bunker.
