TV room

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A TV room is a room in a dormitory , youth hostel, or similar facility that is used for watching TV .

At the beginning of the television age, when the purchase of a device was still very expensive, it was accordingly rare and not every room, for example in a hotel , was equipped with a television. Instead, a television, if available, was placed in a specially furnished room with seating for several people. Television also became a social event, especially at highlights like a soccer World Cup . As the prices of televisions have fallen over the years, these have become much more widespread and separate TV rooms have become rarer, but some facilities, such as senior citizens' pens , still have them today.
