Long-distance transportation
When long-distance transport is the transport of living organisms ( humans , animals , plants ) or things (goods and materials (substances)) a, based on the respective transported relatively large distance called. Important examples of long-distance transport are:
- Europe-wide animal transport
- Goods transport (goods transport) by road, rail, sea or by air
- the transport of raw materials or energy sources (natural gas, crude oil) via pipelines
- the transport of pollutants in the atmosphere ( long-distance transport (atmosphere) )
- the transport of nutrients in a plant from the roots to the leaves
