Clochan

The Irish National Heritage Park in Ferrycarrig ( Caladh na Carraige in Irish ), northwest of Wexford on the B730 (road) in County Wexford in Ireland , gives a glimpse into Ireland's past. The reconstructed wooden structures in chronological order convey a picture of Irish history.

Buildings of the Irish, Vikings and Normans from prehistoric times to the high Middle Ages have been reconstructed . Construction methods and materials are as authentic as possible. The fact that the park is bisected by the Wexford – Dublin railway line occasionally leads to anachronistic photo opportunities. Among other things, you can see:

• a Bronze Age Crannóg , a building on an artificial island,
• a council or ring fort,
• a horizontal wheel watermill ,
• a monastic settlement with a painted high cross ,
• a Viking shipyard and a lakeside farm.
