Residential building at Fetscherstrasse 33–37 after renovation work

The residential building at Fetscherstraße 33–37 is located in Dresden . It is characterized by its “ arbor - like balconies” between the staircase towers.

description

The residential buildings were built from 1958 to 1960 according to designs by the architect Wolfram Starke . With the “gap closing Fetscherstr. 33–37 “, a residential development from the turn of the century that was destroyed in the air raids on Dresden was rebuilt. It is a five-storey residential row that has 30 apartments. The building was built in traditional construction with a tiled roof. On the street side, “arbor-like” balconies can be seen, which have been set up between “protruding stairwells in brickwork”. The balustrades of the balconies were made of “barbed wood”. The residential building has since been modernized. The wooden parapet was replaced by metal cladding. The balconies were glazed.
