Wet forest
Depending on the context, different forest types are referred to as wet forests . The term is not clearly defined and in some cases denotes a parent group that also includes rainforests (compare the English term moist forest ), in some cases both terms are used synonymously.
Tropical and subtropical wet forests are the
- Monsoon forest and the
- Laurel forest .
Specially named after their geographical location
- Moist forests in the Caatinga exclaves (seasonal deciduous forests)
- Cuban wet forests
The World Wide Fund for Nature classifies tropical moist forests as Tropical and subtropical moist broadleaf forests (TSMF), i.e. tropical and subtropical moist deciduous forests .
