The fire brigade training center Ahlen-Brockhausen is a training center for volunteer firefighters and paramedics in the districts of Warendorf , Coesfeld , Soest , Unna and the city of Hamm . It opened on October 20, 1971. The named districts are responsible for the institution.

A former elementary school in Ahlen - Brockhausen in the Warendorf district serves as the course location, which was converted by the volunteer fire brigades involved and adapted to the requirements. The training facility has classrooms for theoretical lessons and an outdoor area with two practice lanes for practical training. The outside area is supplemented by a fire fighting pond and an 8 m high exercise tower. There are also overnight rooms, sanitary facilities and a canteen.

In various courses at the FAS, fire fighters are trained to become squad leaders or fire engine machinists. In addition, training for paramedics and squad leaders is carried out. Around 14 courses lasting several days or weeks take place every year.
