History and architecture

In 1919, a volunteer fire brigade was founded in the then still independent municipality of Hiddesen . At the corner of Katerallee and Erbhofstrasse, a fire department equipment house with a hose tower was built at the same time .

The tool shed is a single-storey plastered building on a broken stone base. In the half-timbered gable on the north side there are two ventilation flaps, in the gable beam the inscription ERBAUT 1919. Above the wooden gate two carved roses from Lippe, in between the words SPRITZENHAUS. The tower attached to the south, like the tool shed, is a plastered building on a broken stone base, but with a half-timbered knee - high . Access is through an arched door on the west side. The wooden shutters on three sides of the tower are provided with ventilation slots. In the boarded gable tops there are small, diamond-shaped windows.

The gable roofs of the tool shed and tower are covered with red concrete roof tiles.
