Figurative art
The term figurative art refers to directions of contemporary fine art in which people, living beings or objects are represented, in contrast to abstract art or concrete art . The representation of real objects is also known as figuration . The figurative painting after the Second World War is also referred to as New Figuration after the title of a traveling exhibition curated by Constance M. Perkins in 1969 .
