Filadelfiakirken Oslo is a Christian community ( Menigheten ) of the Pentecostal movement in Norway . It is the largest Pentecostal church in the country and offers extensive offers at home and abroad.

history

The Filadelfia Congregation was founded by Thomas Ball Barratt . In 1916 she was the first church in Kristiania to officially join the Pentecostal movement. It was not officially founded until 1916, although it had been offering events at various locations in Kristiania since 1910. At the time of its foundation, the congregation had around 200 members, in 2012 there were more than 2,000, of which 1,825 were baptized and 538 were still unbaptized children.

The church has always had a central place in Norway because of its age and size.

The church building in St. Olavsgate, the “New Filadelfia”, was inaugurated in 1938 after extensive renovation. According to Barratt's memoir, the architect Thomas Strandskogen was the head of the building committee.

From 2010 the premises were again extensively converted to create space for a foyer, office space and a café.
