Film Club Münster

The Münster Film Club is the oldest film club in Germany. It was founded in 1948 by film enthusiasts in Münster in order to take a new, open view of the world after the Second World War , to be able to discuss other concepts of life and society and to understand film as a transport medium for aesthetic and cultural constitutions.

The Münster Film Club is a non-commercial venue and can be equated with a municipal cinema . It was founded on June 1, 1948 as a film club in the British occupation zone and is the oldest still existing film club in Germany.

The performances take place on Wednesday and Sunday in the castle theater. The program consists of thematic series, which are presented in their original versions whenever possible.
